::weekend project::

Monday 11 April 2011

My little brother is getting married in 2 weeks! I still picture us running around playing man-hunt and building forts with my other two siblings. Stinks to get old {although I'm still building forts}. We couldn't be happier for the beautiful couple...his finance is absolutely amazing.

I spent the weekend finishing up their rehearsal dinner invitations. Since I'm not in town to help the bride-to-be with odds & ends, I was glad to do this little project for them. The wedding is Easter weekend and the rehearsal dinner will be a casual, outdoor get together of close friends and family. The decorations are fairly simple with rustic wooden baskets and colorful flowers for the center pieces and flowing purple fabric and burlap table coverings. I wanted the invitations to have that same rustic feel.

I designed the invites and had them printed on white cardstock at a local print shop. For the "handmade" touch, I sewed the cardstock onto scalloped kraft paper with brown thread. I love how they turned out. And now, I'm more excited than ever for wedding festivities.

Off to the post office.

  1. Christina! Wow, I am just blown away! Wow wow wow! You have done such a beautiful job and your blog has just brought me to tears. The invitations are GORGEOUS! I could have never even imagined something so beautiful and perfect for the theme! You are so talented. I am SO LUCKY to be marrying into such a wonderful and beautiful family, both inside and out! I love you all!

    I can't even thank you enough. xoxo.

    PS - 12 days!
